This day... bitter sweet comes to mind.
I have used the words BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING numerous times over the last two weeks. I am glad to be going home simply because of the children I'm missing. But I get to take the sweet memories of the most amazingly special time of my life with me.
I thank SCOTT for having a dream of Africa and for inviting me along. Additionally the great new friends we gained in Joof and Marina, Jofie and Monica, Abiud and Johnny, and not to forget the ever faithful Umbra. Thank you all for making this such a wonderful adventure and one of the most amazing times of my life. -

Wow - as my safari comes to an end there are not enough pages in this book to write all of my thoughts. Our short time here was the most exciting adventure I have ever had! From the moment we stepped foot on Rooikraal, you opened your home, your hearts, YOUR AFRICA to us!

| Joof, Marina and Jofie, I can only begin to express how much I enjoyed your hospitality, lodge and, of course, the fantastic hunting. Not knowing what to expect, Namibia has truly turned out to be the experience of a lifetime. You and your staff worked very hard to make our stay comfortable and of course, the PHs were all incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed every hunt with Cornie and Elaine, and particularly Jofie on the Sable and Kudu hunts. I know there is no way that I'll be able to convey what an extraordinary country and experience this has been on my return to the States - but I will certainly try! Joof, Marina, Jofie and Monica - This has been an amazing experience! I am so glad that Gary convinced me to go to SCI in Reno, where we met Joof and Marina and decided to come to Namibia. We quickly discovered that very few people actually knew where Namibia was, but we hope to educate them on our return. Both lodges are beautiful. the food is outstanding and your staff is professional and courteous. I cannot begin to imagine the work and planning that went into making Rooikraal such an unbelievable place. I saw so many exotic (well, to me anyway!) animals - I will never forget the herds of Giraffe, Oryx, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Kudu, Springbuck, Warthog, Ostrich, Waterbuck, Black Wildebeest, Eland, Hartebeest, Zebra and more. Gary certainly did not expect to shoot a Blue Wildebeest, Oryx, Hartebeest, Eland, Black Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Sable, Buffalo, Warthog, Kudu, Springbuck and Impala all in 14 days! Jofie is obviously an outstanding Professional Hunter
as well as an outstanding photographer. We greatly enjoyed the information on wildlife, plants, birds and Namibian history. And, Jofie, thank so much for the heater at the lake Lodge. And Monica, your nachos were outstanding!
Joof and Marina, thanks for taking us into your lodge and for the great conversations around the fire and over the dinner table. Conversation really is something of a forgotten art, but obviously not forgotten by you! You must be very proud of all that you have accomplished here.

Dear Jofie and Monica, Africa, what more can be said than that one powerful word? The emotions and images that spring to mind have been fed and nourished in anticipation my whole life! It has been a childhood dream to come here, an adult aspiration to hunt here, and while not quite as anticipated, has been so much more than expected! This has truly been an experience and memory of a lifetime! Africa, harsh, challenging and even a little dangerous, has proven to be not for the faint of heart, and has completely and utterly amazed us in that it is completely overflowing with life and joy. From the young strong bull taking over the herd to Abiud’s smiling face at 4am! We have seen animals and places I have until now, only read about and now have had the honor and privilege of seeing, photographing and hunting them, to have observed and participated in the ‘circle of life’! This was something that I know now, we did not fully understand and appreciate before this safari! They say that Africa refreshes the soul and instills something in each person who comes here. I would tend to agree! The special places we have seen and amazing animals we have hunted, like my first of the big five, my Buffalo at Waterberg, are so cherished and such an honor! Thank you for sharing that with us! Thank you for showing and teaching us the true nobility and honor of hunting with ethics and respect! That was a totally unexpected and incredibly amazing surprise! You have told us that “safari” meant “The Journey”, but we feel it must also mean “Family”! My return to Hunters Namibia has been even better than I expected! As usual, the little details that are always completed with Marina’s touch make Hunters Namibia one of, if not THE FINEST on the African continent. With over 40 different safaris, I can honestly say that no other outfitter has refined the art of hospitality like yours. I truly appreciate your ongoing generous contributions to SCI and the support of the marketing efforts that our organization funds and manages. It’s clear that you care deeply about international wildlife conservation and the protection of the freedom to hunt. Let’s hope that Namibia receives the full support and funding from SCI, that it so richly deserves. Coming here hunting for the 1st time I did not know how many animals I would want to take, but after shooting and tracking my first African animal (Black Wildebeest) I have to say I caught the bug and was then more than willing to shoot almost anything. Dear Joof and Marina, “FAR BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!” The superlatives: Outstanding, Extraordinary and Over-the-Top really fail to describe our first safari to Africa. Magical may be more appropriate! Not having gone the usual route of meeting you at the hunting shows, we opted for the very steep learning curve period of 4 month which you guided us through effortlessly, allying at least some of our anxieties. Any remaining anxieties disappeared after you most graciously welcomed us to Rooikraal, your safari-chic lodge and our home away from home for the next 10 days. Jofie, the most professional and ethical Professional Hunter, guided me, most patiently I must add, to my fulfilling my dream of hunting in Africa taking 7 magnificent trophies including a 40+ inch buffalo at Waterberg. The thrill of a lifetime – thank you! Evenings around the fire were memorable as Joof holds court as a world-class raconteur. Marina’s style and grace are evident every-where you look – truly a class lady. Special thanks to Hennok, Johnny and Lacjia for your special skills and smiles! Ronnie and I arrived as clients but leave with new special friends who have made this an extraordinary adventure holding memories for a lifetime. We will miss you all until we meet again!
